Sixteen-year-old Deirdre Monaghan is a painfully shy but prodigiously gifted musician. She's about to find out she's also a cloverhand—one who can see faeries. When a mysterious boy enters her ordinary suburban life, seemingly out of nowhere, Deirdre finds herself infatuated. Trouble is, the enigmatic and conflicted Luke turns out to be a gallowglass—a soulless faerie assassin—and Deirdre is meant to be his next mark. Deirdre has to decide if Luke's feelings towards her are real, or only a way to lure her deeper into the world of Faerie
I have read this book already but I am anxious to see what everyone thinks. Not going to say anything yet!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I'm a little worried about this one, but I'm game!
ReplyDeleteWhitney: don't worry if it's a good or a bad book, we were all nervous to pick a book. We will all read it and see what happens...
ReplyDeleteI loved it!
ReplyDeleteLoved, Loved it!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm really loving this little book club! I NEVER would've picked this book to read, but it was so good! :D
ReplyDeleteAny word on the next book?
ReplyDeleteI liked this book up until the end. I thought it ended abruptly and weirdly. I didn't like how the queen died at the hand of other faries. I wanted Deirdre to have something more to do with her death. But when I read this book which was actually a while ago I was mad at it but basically because of the ending. I liked the story leading up to it though!
ReplyDeleteI was confused at the end, and wasn't really sure what was going on. I had no idea how to imagine it either, I feel like it could have been a bit longer... I liked feeling that I hated Luke and that I loved luke, I wish that she would have described the characters a bit more, and I hated how I don't know what happened to her best friend, she just left him out of the end of the story. But over all I really really liked the book. I can't wait to read ballad!
